The Old Quarter's Night Market in Hanoi

If you are in the Old Quarter , the Night Market is hard to miss. Every weekend night, from 8:00 p.m to 12:00 p.m there is a market with full of food and goods. The market is divided into three rows and disposed parallely. Each of parts sells a kind of goods or food. The market stretches from Hang Ngang to Hang Dao street. Apparently, it's so exciting for you to participate in large flea market. For the market, the street was blocked off to motor traffic. So you are free to walk and taste food without scaring about that. Coming here, you will witness a traditional market of local residents with unique items you can't find anywhere else in the world. There are the plenty of street vendors selling not only clothes, souvenirs, postcards. Besides, the food here is excellent. It likes a paradise for food with Vietnamese breads, fresh fruit, candy floss, local beer, ice-cream,...A variety of food are displayed on kiosks and you can taste them directly on hot frying-pan. Or you can sit on a small chair on pavement drink beer Hanoi and chat with your friends. Occasionally, you can find some folk performances at the end or top of street.


Because of being unique of night market, people visiting here are so crowded that you may feel ill at easy. In addition, some pity crimes often happen such as pickpocket, bad bargain or jostling others out. It is suggested that you should go with your tour guide since he knows what is good for you.
